Bill’s posterous

I’m seriously liking the new Y Combinator start-up, posterous. It is extremely simple to use, looks nice and has the most ridiculously basic sign-up process…ever. So, what is it? posterous is a blogging platform that leverages everyone’s familiarity with email. To start the service, all you have to do is send your first post to post@posterous.com. That’s it. Their service sends a confirmation to your email address and viola, you have an account. Because the service is based upon your email address, you don’t even need a password. Every email sent to that address is then taken as a new post and every attachment is embedded accordingly. If you want to customize your account you can pick a sub-domain (they already pick a random one for you when you sign-up), add some profile information and add more email addresses to your account.

Of course my dilemma, as is the case with any of these services, is deciding what to do with this account. Do I use it to replace anything else I have? Do I trying to automatically publish to it? Do I ever visit it again? Hmmm…suddenly very interested in their business model.
